Dead weight is a number, but pickup is a feeling. A bat that feels light in your hands allows for faster reactions and cleaner timing. Our reshaping service removes unnecessary weight from calculated regions of the blade to make the pickup feel significantly lighter than the actual weight on the scale.
Our Process
We weigh your bat and evaluate its existing pickup center. We discuss your stance and style of play to determine where weight should be targeted.
Using specialty wood planes, we carefully shave wood from non-critical areas, such as creating subtle scallops behind the shoulders or softening the spine near the toe.
After reaching the targeted balance, the wood is finished with progressively finer sandpapers, hand-buffed, and protected with standard structural sheets.
